The Healthcare Plug

Servant Leader

Simoine Kenya is a dedicated healthcare advocate, aspiring physician, and certified birth doula committed to advancing health equity in underserved communities. In 2020, she founded The Healthcare Plug: the nation's first medical concierge service designed to bridge healthcare gaps for low-socioeconomic populations. The organization provides critical wraparound services such as insurance navigation, appointment scheduling, clinician referrals, and non-emergent transportation—ensuring that healthcare is truly accessible to all. With a passion for advocacy, health literacy, and maternal-fetal health, Simoine works tirelessly to dismantle barriers to care, particularly for marginalized populations. Her commitment extends beyond service delivery to education, empowering individuals to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system with confidence and dignity.

Beyond her work with The Healthcare Plug, Simoine is pursuing a career in medicine, driven by a deep-rooted commitment to racial health equity and neuroscience research, particularly exploring the impact of depression on brain chemistry and non-medication treatment options. Her journey is one of resilience, having battled depression for 18 years—an experience that has shaped her empathetic approach to patient care and advocacy. Through community outreach, she exemplifies servant leadership, using her lived experience to uplift others. Whether supporting and encouraging expectant mothers as a birth doula or helping patients receive the care they deserve, Simoine embodies the spirit of service, making an indelible impact on the Atlanta community, and beyond.
